Flock to Manningham Mills

Manningham Project were recently asked to decorate a sheep to enter into a local art project. We were given a cardboard cutout which we had to decorate. Our trainees were up to the task and the sheep was delivered on time for the opening of the display of 60 other entries from around the Manningham area. The display was held in the Manningham Mills from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th February.

Another New Staff Member

Manningham Project are happy to welcome another new member of staff. Rabia Bhatti has joined us to work as our Manningham SureStart Advisor. She will be continuing our FREE advice sessions that are available to parents with children aged 0-4 Years, living in the SureStart Manningham Area. New Staff Member

We are happy to welcome a new member of staff this month. Nasser Mahmood joins us and begins his training as part of our reception team. Although only a month since he started, he is settling in very well and is proving to be an asset to the team. Nasser likes to keep busy, not only is he working in our busy reception, he also has a second job working part time in a local business.

 

Porishad Community are to retain Advice Sessions.

The BEAP Community Partnership, Bangladesh Porishad and the Manningham Project Advice Centre have drawn up plans to make sure the much needed advice work is delivered from the Porishad building for the benefit of local residents.

The ever popular Mr Bari will again deliver outreach advice sessions from the heart of the local community. Mr Zakir Hussain, Project Manager at BEAP says, "a well-needed service, people have already heard the news that Mr Bari will be delivering advice sessions once again and are lookin forward to the service to resume".

Trainee Advice Workers reach milestone.

Three trainee advice workers have completed and satisfactorily passed a 12 week General Benefits course. Abu Khair, Mizan-Ur Rahman and Sultana Akther, all from our Bangladeshi community, have reached this milestone after weeks of dedicated study and mentoring. Whilst studying for this course they also managed to pass the OICS Level 1, an on-line qualification for the Office of the Immigration Services Commissions rules and codes. They are now registered on the OICS website as OICS Level 1 approved advisers.

Health Plus Service reaches out to new surgery.

The Manningham Project Healthplus Service, funded by the Bradford City NHS, has begun Outreach sessions at Manningham Clinic on Lumb Lane. Already serving surgeries at Picton Medical Centre, Lumb Lane, The Surgery, Alice Street and Bilton Medical Centre on City Road, the need to provide advice within local surgeries has finally been recognised.
